From 1975 to 1979, Serge Lazarevitch studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this period, he performed with various local bands and met Mike Stern, Pat Metheny & Bill Frisell. After his return to Europe in 1979, he moved to Belgium, taught at the Liège Conservatory and took part in the Belgian jazz scene alongside Ch. Loos, M. Herr, J. Pelzer, S. Houben …
In 1981, he returned to Paris and played with many French and international renowned musicians. From 1989 to 1991, he was guitarist of the National Jazz Orchestra conducted by Cl. Barthélémy. He directs his own groups (Trio & Quintet) with which he makes several recordings hailed by the press. He participates in many groups and is again a member of the O.N.J. under the direction of D. Levallet from 1997 to 2000. At the same time, he is coordinator of the Jazz departments of the CRR of Perpignan (1988-2010), and of the Montpellier CRR (since September 2010) and leads internships in Europe and Africa.
