Kaat Weyler

  • Received her first musical education in Antwerp from her grandfather Walter Weyler, and studied recorder with Karl Lenski and oboe with Michaël Scheck.
  • Scholars in the Schulmusikstudium für höhere Schulen at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Köln, following oboe lessons with Prof. Helmuth Hucke and recorder lessons with Prof. Günther Höller
  • Specialises in historical wind instruments such as shawm, pommel, dulcian and cromwell
  • Is co-founder 1971 of the Ensemble für Alte Musik Odhecaton Köln 
  • Has done several record and CD productions, sound and film recordings, among others for WDR NDR BR 
  • Concert tours in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands and Belgium
  • Since 1994 teacher of Early Music Course Halewynstichting 
  • Until 2009 lecturer at the Städtische Musikschule Dormagen for early music, recorder, wind instrument teaching and leader of the Jugend-Symphonie-Orchester
  • 2010-2018 Teacher Youth Music School Hans Dirken/Halewyn Foundation
