Courses for beginners to advanced students: from an introduction to the harmony as applied in jazz and pop to higher-level lessons

• What do all those chords mean, which scales go with which chords, how should I perform accompaniments?
• You will learn more about form (verse, chorus, intro, coda etc.) which will make it easier for you to transcribe songs and thus introduce you to the basics of song writing and jazz composition.
• All theory is tested and explained on the basis of existing pieces from the jazz and pop repertoire, illustrated with audio and video material.
• All theory is immediately put into practice.
• ICT applications: audio and video material is regularly used during the lessons and various ICT applications are taught such as music notation (Sibelius, Musescore), accompaniment programmes (iRealB, Band in a Box, Garage Band) and all kinds of applications for computer, laptop and tablet.
• Syllabus: the course comes with a handbook containing a summary of the items covered. The syllabus is supplemented weekly with extra text and items (e.g. midi files) and sent to the course members by e-mail after each lesson.

This year there is a group on Wednesdays and Thursdays, each time from 19 - 20 hrs.
